*BURN BAN* - STILL REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE- PER GOVERNOR TATE REEVES
EFFECTIVE 09/12/2023 - UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE - Project No. ERBR 62(03) Old Highway 80 Bridge replacements
Beginning On Old Highway 80 at Dennis Graveyard road, headed South-East towards (New) Highway 80 at Lake High School, this section of the highway will be temporarily closed due to the new bridge replacements. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but at this time our garbage trucks have had some mechanical issues, as well as shortage on personnel. Please be patient and leave your garbage cans at the end of the road for the rest of the week or until picked up. We are currently a day and a half behind on every route and we apologize for this delay.

Scott County courthouse offices will delay opening until at least 10:00am today as a result of storm damages. Road crews are assessing damages and starting the process of clearing roads where possible.
All Scott County offices will be closed on May 29, 2023 for Memorial Day.
Bridge repair work was completed ahead of schedule and the previously closed portion of Morton Marathon Road is now open.
A portion of Morton Marathon Road between Stage Road and Independence Road will be temporarily closed beginning Wednesday (5/17/23) for necessary bridge repairs. This work is expected to be completed within 2 weeks.
Scott County offices will be closed Monday, February 20, 2023 for Washington’s Birthday (Presidents’ Day). Residential garbage collection is not affected by the holiday and will run as regularly scheduled.
Scott County offices will be closed 1/16/23 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Garbage routes will not run on 1/16/23. Accordingly, routes will be delayed by one day that week, resulting in the following schedule:
Monday --> Tuesday
Tuesday --> Wednesday
Wednesday --> Thursday
Thursday --> Friday
Friday --> Saturday
The following week, all routes will return to normal pickup days.
Scott County offices will be closed Monday, 1/2/23, in observance of New Year’s Day.
Residential garbage collection will run as normally scheduled.
ADSI will collect garbage on regularly scheduled pick-up dates this holiday season, including Thanksgiving Day.
Election Day is November 8, 2022
Beginning with this election, Scott County will be utilizing a new elections system which will incorporate the use of paper ballots in compliance with upcoming requirements set forth by the Mississippi Voting Modernization Act.

Absentee Voting
The 2022 Scott County tax sale will be hosted online beginning August 29th, 2022 at 8:30am. Interested parties must register to participate, and registration is now open.

Scott County offices will be closed Monday, May 30th, in observance of Memorial Day.
UPDATE: THIS BURN BAN HAS EXPIRED
Scott County is currently experiencing dangerous wildfire conditions and has been placed under a red flag warning. Accordingly, a burn ban is in effect for Scott County effective 2/15/2022 - 2/22/2022.

Garbage pick up dates will be affected the week of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Pick up will be delayed by 1 day, as follows:

Thursday -> Friday
Friday -> Saturday
Pick up the following week will resume on the normal schedule.
Christmas and New Year’s Day will not interfere with normal trash collection schedules as the holidays fall on Saturday this holiday season.
As part of Scott County’s improved residential solid waste collection program, trash cans are being delivered to residents. If you have not received a trash can at this time, please contact our office so we can have you included in supplemental distribution rounds. The use of these trash cans will be required for continued solid waste collection going forward.
