A Special Election will be held on November 03, 2026 for the position of School Board Member - District 2. A candidate shall be a qualified elector of the district in which election is sought, and have a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must be a resident of the county district in which he/she seeks election for two (2) years preceding the day of election. Miss. Const. of 1890, Art. VI, §171 and Art. XII, §250. Miss. Code §§§37-5-1, 37-7-306,23-15-300. All candidates must file a Statement of Intent and petition containing the signatures of not less than 50 qualified electors of the district with the Circuit Clerk. No qualifying fee is paid and the qualifying period ends August 20, 2026. Qualifying paperwork may be obtained in the Scott County Circuit Clerk's office.
