The Scott County Board of Supervisors, at their regularly scheduled meeting on May 4, 2026, adopted limited ordinances related to on-site wastewater/sewage and right-of-way safety and maintenance. Copies of the ordinances are below. Prior to their adoption, a public hearing was widely advertised and held on April 28, 2026.

At this time, the County intends for the processes required by the wastewater ordinance to be combined into the already existing application for a 911 address and floodplain management, with no additional fee requirements beyond those already established for the pre-existing 911 addressing and floodplain process. We hope that this provides for continuity as we implement these changes. Updated application forms will be made available on our website. The requirements of this ordinance will be in effect from and after July 5, 2026.

Utility providers seeking to install or alter utilities within the county right-of-way should make note of the requirements set forth in the right-of-way ordinance. Utilities should contact the County Engineer, Matthew Miller, regarding the requirements for permitting. He may be reached at 601-627-7780 or via email: mmiller@benchmarkms.net.
